Online Classroom Registration Instructions
To use the classroom
All students must complete their course registration by completing the following steps:
1. Point your web browser to encounteringislam.org (link will open in a new window to keep these instructions available).
2. Begin to create a new account by clicking Create new account in the drop-down menu below Classrooms.
3. Completely fill in all the fields on the New Account web form with correct information before clicking on the Create my new account button.
Please write down the username and email address which you have chosen. You will need these should you forget your password.
4. A verification email will be immediately sent to your email account from info@encounteringislam.org with a subject of "Account details...".
Please check your email and click on the link in the email we have sent to you. You will not be able to use the Online Classroom until you have verified your email by clicking this link. If you do not receive this email, please check your spam filter and junk mail folders. If you still cannot find the verification email, please email us at info@encounteringislam.org so we can reset your account. If you successfully follow the verification link, your web browser will take you to the Online Classroom and ask you to reset your password. Click "Login" and you will be asked to create a new password. You will also be given the option to upload a picture of yourself and change your time zone.
5. You are now a registered and confirmed user of encounteringislam.org. You can return to the online classroom anytime at encounteringislam.org/moodle.
6. The last step you will need to complete is to enroll in the specific course you are participating in. If you registered for class through your coordinator, they will need to register you for the class event first; once this is done you can simply go to the Classrooms, click on your class and log in with the username and password you created. If you can register for the event online, log in and register and then can log in to the class using your username and password (to see if you can register online, click on Find an Event at encounteringislam.org, click on your class's event and see if there is a Register Now link at the bottom). When you have returned to the online classroom site, click on the name of the course you want to enroll in. If the course allows free public access, simply click "yes" to enroll. If you have registered for an event and set up your encounteringislam.org account, you should enter the classroom immediately.
7. Great work! Now you’re done. Anytime you return to the Online Classroom, simply click on your course and log in.
